Logan Flickinger, kindergartner, presents his book, “The Cat in The Hat,” while dressed as “Thing 1” during “I love to read day” at White Hall Elementary on Friday. All six kindergarten classes were encouraged to dress as a character from their favorite book and share with the class.
First-grade students ate actual green eggs and ham to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday. They also read his book, “Green Eggs and Ham.” Students from B. Michael Caudill Middle School came and read to the first-graders.
“We encouraged all the children to pick up a book today and read,” teacher Christina George, said. “Reading is so important with learning and in school.”
